Tsukubai - stone bowls are usually made of solid stone and are iconic in nature. Water enters through a bamboo pipe - kake. Tsukubai provided with special wooden ladle - tsukubai-bisyaku. Initially, these pools were the attributes of Buddhist temples in Japan and were used for ritual washing of hands and rinsing. Tsukubai are an integral part of the traditional Japanese tea ceremony.
